INDEPENDENT EXECUTIVE COACHING · ESTABLISHED 2022 · UNITED KINGDOM

The leap from
capable manager
to credible leader.

Most careers stall at the same moment — the transition from leading a team to leading leaders. Beldon Coaching is an independent practice built entirely around that transition. I work one-to-one with mid-career managers preparing for senior roles, through structured programmes focused on executive presence, managing upwards, leadership communication, and decision-making under pressure.

FOUR PILLARS · FIVE PROGRAMMES · ONE-TO-ONE DELIVERY

II. The Four Pillars

Leadership, broken into what actually matters.

My coaching is built around four specific capabilities — the ones that consistently separate managers who advance to senior leadership from those who plateau just beneath it. These are not abstract ideas from leadership books; they are the precise skills senior operators rely on every working day. Each programme strengthens one or more of these pillars, and the longer programmes integrate all four into a coordinated personal operating system.

I.

Executive Presence

How you show up in the room before you speak. Posture, pace, tone, silence. The invisible signals that decide whether you're heard as a peer or as support staff.

II.

Managing Upwards

Most leadership careers are won or lost in how you manage the people above you. Stakeholder mapping, upward influence, navigating organisational politics with integrity.

III.

Leadership Communication

The craft of being understood — one-to-one, in meetings, in writing, in front of boards. Clarity at the speed of business.

IV.

Decision Under Pressure

The skill senior leaders are actually paid for. Frameworks for choosing when information is incomplete, time is short, and the stakes are real.

III. My Practice

A deliberately small practice.

"I take on a limited number of coaching engagements each quarter."

Beldon Coaching is a one-person practice. Every coaching session, every written deliverable, every programme is delivered personally by me, Swagat Tharu. I don't run a coaching firm, I don't sub-contract sessions, I don't scale. The practice is deliberately small — because meaningful leadership development requires the coach to hold the whole arc of a client's progress, not hand it off between associates. I work with a maximum of twelve active clients at any time, which means every engagement receives my full attention. This also means availability is limited. If you're reading this and the timing matters, get in touch early.

V. In the Clients' Own Words

Testimonials.

I spent twelve years as a senior manager and two years stuck just below director level without understanding why. Six weeks into the Managing Upwards Programme, I had language for things I'd felt but couldn't name. Eight weeks after that, I had the promotion.
— R. Patel, Financial Services, London
Swagat doesn't give you templates. They ask the question that makes you realise you already knew the answer but weren't willing to say it out loud. That's what coaching is actually for.
— J. Harrington, Technology Director, Manchester
I came to Beldon expecting career advice. I left with something much more uncomfortable and much more useful — a clear view of where I'd been getting in my own way for a decade.
— S. Okonkwo, Operations Leader, Birmingham

A few questions, answered.

Is Beldon Coaching a company or a single practitioner?

Beldon Coaching is a one-person independent practice operated by me, Swagat Tharu. I deliver every session and produce every written deliverable personally.

What kind of managers do you work with?

Mid-career managers — typically team leads, senior managers, and heads of department — preparing to step into more senior roles within the next 12-36 months.

Is coaching delivered in person or online?

All sessions are delivered via secure video call. This allows me to work with clients across the UK and maintain the small, focused practice I've built.

Is this a subscription?

No. Every programme is a one-time payment for a complete, finite engagement. There are no subscriptions, retainers, or automatic renewals.

VIII. A Final Note

"Leadership is not a personality. It's a practice. Practised alone, it takes decades. Practised with structure, it takes months."
